A few simple tricks can help you reduce the daily wear and tear that your hardwood floors take.

Attach furniture caps to prevent scratches on your floors when furniture gets moved around. This is especially helpful in high-activity areas like the kitchen. Using furniture caps on your kitchen chairs and table will prevent scratches on your floor’s finish.

Place doormats at the inside and outside of all doors that lead to the exterior of your home. These will catch a good amount of dirt and grit before it can get tracked into your home and wear away at your floor’s finish. Dirt acts like sandpaper and can cause damage over time. Vacuuming and sweeping regularly will take care of what isn’t caught by the mats.
