Professional Floor Refinishing - Hardwood Floor Installation - Magnus Anderson - Madison NJ

Before you consider attempting to refinish your hardwood floors yourself, you should measure your floorboards to see if it’s necessary to hire a professional.

To measure your floorboards, insert a business card into the space between planks and mark where the card stops. If your floors are less than 3/4” thick, professional work is needed because sanding will be a delicate job. Thinner floorboards can’t be sanded and stained as many times as thicker boards. By taking on the job yourself with thin boards, you risk over-sanding, which can cause major damage to your floors.

Even if your floorboards are thicker, the professional route is a good way to go to avoid any damage to your floors. With our dust free refinishing, the job will be quicker and safer for your home and family.
